Louis Jawitz is a veteran professional photographer with many years of experience.
He was first attracted to photography while in the navy.
Since then, he has had a career doing advertising, travel and editorial
work for major clients in New York City,
for which he has won many Awards.
In addition to assignment work, Mr. Jawitz has long been involved with
producing stock photography. His work is currently marketed throughout
the world by stock photo agencies including
The Workbook, Age Foto Stock in Spain, and Digital Vision of London.
His personal work
has been exhibited at many New York galleries and advertising agencies,
as well as in one man shows at Nikon House in New York City and at
Sullivan County Arts Center, where he has won several awards over the
past years. In 2001, he was earned 2 awards by the Art Directors Club for ads which
appeared in Popular Mechanics Magazine. His editorial work has appeared in articles in Nikon World,
Popular Photography, Shutterbug and numerous other magazines. Over the past
few years, he has added digital skills to his photographic techniques.
Most recently he has combined his long time passions of automobiles
and photography and has begun to specialize in
autos and action/autos
photography. Mr. Jawitz has written an article on photographing autos
with a Stabilizer.

Mr. Jawitz has taught photography as an adjunct professor at
Sullivan County Community College.
For many years he has been teaching his own photography
workshop in the scenic Catskill mountains. You can visit the

For many years Mr. Jawitz maintained a large duplex skylit rooftop
studio in New York City's famous Flatiron district.
He was one of the pioneers in what is now known as the heart of
Manhattan's photo district. His skylight studio
and Empire State Building view roof-top were often
been rented to music video and motion picture companies as well as
still photographers.
